Are you the type of person who loves being super organised, has tick lists and enjoys colour coding their work? Or, are you the type of student that loves messing around with software applications, perhaps enjoys learning and understanding law & legislation or helping people understand things?

We’re looking for our next Payroll Technician Apprentice – is this you?

As a Payroll Technician you will be an important part of our professional team. Over time we will teach you all the knowledge, skills and behaviours that is essential to help you develop into a fabulous Payroll Professional. You’ll study for the Level 3 Payroll Apprenticeship qualification and with the right ambition progress to become a Chartered Payroll Professional with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals.

As a qualified Payroll Technician, you’ll ensure thousands of employees are paid their wages, their pensions are calculated, taxes are collected for the government and appropriate advice is provided to business owners. You will become exceptionally skilled at using highly functionalised payroll software, develop efficient processes and utilise Microsoft products such as Excel and Power BI.

Payroll Professionals must be inquisitive, analytical and ready to learn every day. Payroll & Pension management is a very responsible role and is an incredibly interesting and rewarding career path.

About us

Cox & Co is an award winning payroll & pension bureau based in Willsbridge, (near Longwell Green) Bristol. One of our apprentices has just won “Payroll Student of the Year” 2023 with the Global Payroll Association. We are considered an exemplary employer in the industry and are held in high esteem in the payroll bureau sector.

Our offices are situated on a working farm in BS30. We love what we do and where we work and this warmth is reflected in the relationships that we have with each other and our clients. We are a small team and one that really goes the extra mile – For instance last National Payroll Week, we celebrated with a trip to Barcelona, Spain!

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Office Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday
